Harbin Institute of Technology Co-hosts International Conference on China–France Digital–Intelligent Integration


On May 23, the International Conference on China–France Digital–Intelligent Integration, jointly organized by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), emlyon Business School, and the China Information Economics Society, was held at HIT. Mark Smith, Vice President of emlyon Business School, Xu Wei, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Information Economics Society, and Liu Ting, Vice President of HIT, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks.


Conference Scene

More than 100 academicians, renowned scholars, industry experts, and faculty and student representatives from 22 countries attended the conference, including Wang Xuhui, Vice Chairman of the China Society for Information Economics and President of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics; Zhang Jie, Member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China; Aliaksandr Kilcheuski, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus; Aliaksei Yahorau, President of Belarusian State Economic University; Lionel Henderson, Vice President of British University of Management, Uzbekistan; and Olga Morozevich, Vice President of Belarusian State Economic University. Zhang Xu, Secretary of the School Council of the School of Management at HIT, presided over the opening ceremony.

Mark Smith stated that emlyon Business School has long focused on the integration of digital economy and business education, supported by a well-established international talent cultivation system and research platform. He expressed hope that, through international conferences and cooperative education platforms, all parties would continue to deepen cooperation in faculty exchange, joint research, and talent cultivation, thereby building stronger momentum for China–France digital intelligence integration and jointly exploring new pathways for transnational academic and industrial collaboration.

Xu Wei noted that the digital economy represents a core direction for industrial transformation and disciplinary development in the new era. He said the Society would fully leverage its role as a platform and bridge to integrate academic and industry resources, support deeper university-enterprise cooperation in research, technology transfer, and talent cultivation in the digital economy field, and actively establish high-quality platforms for interdisciplinary exchange and industry–academia–research collaboration, contributing wisdom and strength to the high-quality development of the regional digital economy.

Liu Ting stated that digital intelligence integration is a core engine driving the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation. He encouraged participating experts to engage in in-depth exchanges and work together to deepen China–France cooperation in science and education, expand collaboration within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization framework, jointly cultivate internationally oriented innovative talents, and produce pioneering achievements. He added that HIT will continue to advance international cooperation with an open mindset, deepen the substance of China–France cooperation, strengthen digital intelligence innovation, expand cooperation networks within the SCO framework, and contribute to China’s digital development and high-level opening-up.

During the conference, a series of events were also held, including a High-Level Scholars Forum, Discipline Development Forum, Journal Editors Forum, and keynote speeches. Participating experts and scholars shared insights on cutting-edge achievements and practical experiences in digital intelligence integration, exchanged ideas, and built consensus for future cooperation. Douglas R. Vogel, Chief Academic Advisor of HIT, delivered a report at the High-Level Scholars Forum. Professor Liu Luning and Professor Liu Wei from the School of Management participated in the Discipline Development Forum and the Journal Editors Exchange Forum, respectively, while Professor Liang Jing and Professor Xie Zhenzhen delivered keynote speeches.

Experts and Scholars Delivering Reports


During the conference, Liu Ting met with Mark Smith and his delegation, and the two sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation in scientific research exchange, academic collaboration, and faculty and student mobility. Xing Wenlong, Dean of emlyon Business School Asia Campus, and Nikola Zivlak, Associate Dean for Programs and International Cooperation, emlyon Business School Asia Campus, also attended the meeting.

Liu Ting also met with Aliaksei Yahorau and his delegation. The two sides signed the Cooperation and Exchange Agreement between the School of Management of Harbin Institute of Technology and Belarusian State Economic University, reaching consensus on strengthening cooperation in economics, finance, and related fields.
